Been thinking about swapping this in.

96-98 COBRA ENGINE

Would that motor match up with my gt tranny or would i need a new tranny? Idk to much about that drivetrain. Its all the same isn't it? Until the 03-04 when they have 6 speeds? Hows the price on that motor also. Really wanna get one cheap. Thinking thats an okay price.

if you have a 4.6 gt yes the trans will work with the cobra motor.

you will need a dif. flywheel if you have a manual gt as the cobra crank is an 8 bolt next to the gt's 6 bolt

You can use the stock GT engine harness and computer and pretty much all the wiring with a few small mods done to the wiring harness and a tune on the ECU. Tranny will bolt right up.

Sounds like a bet. Before i put the motor in anything specific thats not super expensive i could throw on it. I've heard 03-04 heads are great. Would that be a good idea? Maybe a new intake?

get a 97-98 markVIII motor and get pistons and rods.. you can use your 6 bolt flywheel and other stuff from the motor.
