Just finished a few more mods and went to the track Sunday for some testing. I've added a Fore return fuel system, ID1000's, swapped to E85, upgraded the D1SC to F1A and loosened up the converter since my last track outing. I tried a couple passes launching with transbrake but the track would not hold it at all so I decided to footbrake and hopefully get a clean pass & datalog. I was quite pleased with the results.

Previous outing: D1SC @ 16 psi, 93 octane, 5000 stall - 6.32 w/ 1.36 60' on transbrake w/ 2 step @ 4400
Sunday: F1A @ 17.7 psi, E85, 6600 stall - 5.980 w/ 1.300 60' on footbrake @ 4500 rpm

Car weighs 3800 w/ driver and full tank. It made 707 rwhp on a loaded Dynocom dyno on 1/30/14. Best we can figure, the 4L80 is robbing 90 rwhp more than the 6R80.

At your power level why did you swap out the 6r80? I would understand if it previously had an mt-82. Did the 6r80 take a shit on ya?

So u r car footbrake to 4500 got damm

First footbrake pass I went to 4000 and ran 6.13. I didn't even feel the suspension load up when footbraking that pass. Next pass I went to 4500 but I did feel it starting to load up. Not sure how much is left but I think it will go even higher.

Yes, it broke on me back in Dec 2011 and cost me the stock motor running 10 teens. I was actually the first one with the Circle D/ Exedy upgrade. The drum broke and it did not shift into 4th - exit rod through block. I never had any problems after the upgrade but I was still paranoid. I also hated the shifting inconsistencies that we never could get eliminated. One pass would do great, next pass hit limiter. Now I control shifting with full manual trans plus I wanted the transbrake.

Overdrive. I actual drive my car quite a bit. I ordered the trans back in January 2013 and I had no idea how big of a job it was going to be. A glide or TH400 definitely is an easier swap but there was little to no info on swaps for the 2011 & up cars 13 months ago.

any info on the 4l80 swap?

Don't do it is the best info I can give. I am pleased with mine but I would do a TH400 if I had to do it again because it is so much easier. The 4L80 requires cutting, grinding, hammering, etc.

That's very nice I foot brake to 2900 and my suspension is fully loaded at that point cut a 1.41 with 6.18 in 1/8

You changed way too much at once to blame the 80e for robbing WHP. Not sure if you dynoed it unlocked or locked, but loosening up a converter will kill WHP on a dyno.

Not as skewed as you may think but it is what I experienced. The 6R80 had 4200 stall locked & 4L80 had 6600 stall unlocked, both were on 93 octane but the 4L80 had upgraded return fuel system. This comparison resulted in 90 rwhp less with 4L80 (713 to 622). Same blower, same pulley, very similar weather, same load value on the same dyno. I knew it would be different and I am not complaining, just putting info out there. The purpose of this dyno session was to dial in the new fuel system. We made three pulls, pumped the 93 out, put in E85 & added 2.5 degrees timing. This resulted in +40 rwhp (622 to 662). Two weeks later put it back on the dyno to get tune dialed in because I swapped the head unit to F1A. Ended up going three pulley sizes bigger (4.13" to 4.50"). This resulted in +45 rwhp (662 to 707). The info is just for general reference for those interested and I think it can be useful for some. I like the 4L80 and it is a beast. However, it is costly and a royal pain to get in these cars.

Some other data that some may be interested in:
L&M shortblock @ 10.1 compression. Timing is locked out at a max of 21.5 degrees. WOT A/F is 10.9. I run Alky Control meth kit for octane & cooling but mostly for cooling since the E85 conversion. Sunday the temp was about 60 degrees and mostly sunny. IAT was 100.40 degrees when I launched, dropped to 73.40 before converter could flash from 4500 to 6600 and max temp was 78.80 degrees when I let out after the 1/8 mile.
