Hey guys Ive run into a problem. My third gear is acten up and I need some help.. All the gears are just fine except 3rd, somtimes it will go in just fine, others it will be hard to get in, and others it will grind.. Im thinking my syncro is on its way to death.. What I need to know is how much to expect to pay to have a shop rebuild my 3rd gear. Thanks

Probably around $1200-1500. (Labor is the killer!)

It would be a good time to put in an LSD since the tranny will be apart.

A new clutch & T/O would also be smart. (Stock replacement is a good choice and nicely priced)

Possible. The cost is so high due to R&R and then tearing hte tranny apart....

If you can R&R the powertrain yourself it's not very expensive.

If not you are looking at roughly 2 DAYS book time for R&R plus a tranny rebuild. (12-16hrs x $60-80 per hour)
