Most cars only have 2 anyway right? Another stupid law, In Montana they only give us stickers every year for the back licensplate but still require that we have a front liscense plate.

3rd brake light became mandatory in 1986 I believe. Yes, you do have to have all of them working. You probably won't get a ticket for it, but it is a violation.
Okay i was arguing about it to my girlfriend cause i noticed it was out and I told her its not supposed to be out but she likes to argue
As Lawman said, Federal Law changed in 1986 making the third brake light mandatory.
