3650/t-45 swap?

I HAVE A 2001 COBRA WITH A 3650 IN IT BUT 3RD GEAR IS OUT,IS A T-45 A DIRECT SWAP?ALSO WITCH TRANNY IS BETTER OVERALL? :shrug:

Neither is better, they are pretty much the same. TR3650 doesn't have a removeable bellhousing, not sure if a T45 does. The shifter may be different. Wiring harnesses for the the transmissions may be different too. I imagine it shouldn't be too much difference.

get the built PMP 3650 unless you need 6 gears and a slower 1st gear.

+1 That's the way to go. Beefed up 3650, direct bolt in.
All these people talk about going to the T56, but it has a taller 1st gear. So yea, it's a 6 speed, great, but less take off in 1st.

t45 will bolt right up, but you will need to swap over the reverse switch, and will have to have a new shift if the t45 doesn't come with one...
