While everyone is getting amped up about the pending arrival of the all-wheel-drive Focus RS, let’s not forget that its cousin the Focus ST is already here, and it’s a blast to drive in its own right. To show just how capable it its, Ford took a stock ST to the Team O’Neil Rally School in Dalton, New Hampshire, to see how well it would perform off the beaten path.

“The Ford Focus ST has the heart and soul of a rally car, which makes it a blast to drive. It also means that when relegated to urban roads, it doesn’t realize its true potential,” Ford of Canada’s Social Media Manager/Blog Editor Ammar Khan writes. “We wanted to give it a chance to roar on an off-road course with a professional driver—and to let you see what it’s like in the passenger’s seat first-hand.”

And when they say firsthand, they captured video of the Focus ST sliding around the course in full 360-degree glory, which you can watch right here using Google Cardboard on an Android device or by way of a Chrome or Firefox browser…

If you don’t have a way to watch the 360-degree version, you can watch a traditional version of the video here…

All we can say after watching that video is that rally school looks like a blast. Sign us up.
