I get a lot of people asking me how the traction is with the big 345/30R20 Pilot sport 4S tires I have on the GT500. Usually they don't believe me when I say the traction is pretty good for a full street tire. I know it is nowhere near as good as a Cup2 or a M/T, but I like to do a lot of weekend trips and I always get caught in a rainstorm, so I wanted something decent in the rain.

I decided to make a quick video to show how good the traction is from a roll with a quick 3rd gear pull, then a 2nd to 3rd gear pull.

Good video, that 2nd to 3rd is where I live, the Nittos I run work with with 700/700, really depends on outside temps and surface.

I have 315/35/20 Super Sports and can blow them off pretty easy.

Last I checked I don't think I can get the P4S in my sizes.

275/35-20's
.

.

That’s the money combo on s197 cars:
315/35/30 rear
275/35/20 front
Run NT555R2s rear with 4.10s (regular NT555 G2s in front) and life is GOOD.
If you want a fast well behaved street S197 Shelby that is the combo.
Don’t fear the gear, run a sticky rear tire and actually enjoy the power you’ve paid for.
Can’t wait to review the R888Rs on my ‘22 GT500 but I hope they make the 315/30/20 555R2 eventually

I run 265/35R20s on the front so the fronts are 27.3 are the rears are 28.2
I love the tall rear tire look...it gives the car a nice rake

Last one in front of the red bush is my favorite. Really shows off how nice SGM looks in the sun.

I have had several sets of the 4S using the stock 19" wheels and tire size on a 2010 GT500 with 3.55 gears. With 630 HP and 620 TQ these tires can lose their grip in second gear when the VMP Gen2R gets into the 5-6K range usually. Rarely do they spin in third. Once temperature drops below 60 they'll spin in third. Great street tires though for trips and sport driving. Quiet with minimal vibration issues but pricey.

I agree with your points. What size are you running?

Stock sizes still. Was going to change it once but decided to leave the stock car height as is.

Still love those wheels 03 DSG Snake.

I have the 4s on mine and it's an excellent tire! I don't have as wide as yours so I can't do anything crazy in 1st or 2nd, but 3rd... oh yes.
