I tried searching but came up with nothing. This winter I am going to be putting long tubes on and redoing the exhaust and I kinda wanted to run a full 3" but is this going to be over kill, or will 2.5" be fine. And does anybody else besides mac make a 3" cat back for my car?

no need for 3 in. unless your upwards 500hp and higher, you will lose power if not.

Thanks for the info, I will stay with 2.5" when I redo the exhaust. I think it was quick96cobra's car that I heard that made me want 3", that thing does sound badass.

Yea it may sound really well, but you WILL lose power if you are not making 600hp. On a regular street car 2.5" will suffice

3-inch exhaust sucks because a 281 cube motor doesn't move THAT much air, even in most blown applications. You want to maintain good exhaust velocity, and 3" kills that. Once a motor starts moving enough air to warrent 3" without killing velocity, it's fine.

The exception being a turbo car...in which case go big.
