want to get some 3.90 gears for my car, dont see alot of people with them though. wanna get some opinions on them. not getting 3.73's because i already have 3.55's & wouldnt make that big of a difference. but dont really want to get 4.10's either because i do drive my car out of town alot. anybody have 4.10's & drive outta town alot?

I am running 4.10 in my 2010, Whipple charged. I tell yea I drive it to work in the summer once in a while which is 70 miles each way, all interstate. Now like I said, once in a while, and to be honest once in 5th, seems to cruse well without any issues...maybe average 17 MPG....moderate driving that is:). It had 3.73 in it but I felt the torque would like top out, but with the 4.10 it pulls very nice thru each gear when your running light to light.

Well I have almost 150,000 miles on my car lol. So I don't want the motor under alot of stress with those gears

Little late but,, One reason people avoid 3.90's is FRPP does not offer 3.90's Motive and Richmond offer them, but they are not cut for a street friendly ride and tend to whine unless you have an installer that knows how to set them up correctly. And from what I've seen, most installers aren't willing to reset the rear 3-4 or 5 times to get them quiet.

Also 3.90's cost more than FRPP 4.10's and there's only a 100rpm difference between the 4.10's and 3.90's so 4.10's FTW.

I had 4.10's and interstate driving did get a bit tedious running 3000 rpm's at 80.
