What are your goals? If your gunna add a poweradder soon, go with 3.73s. 4.10s if your going to stay NA.

Get 4:30s you pussy! Haha, just kidding man. Yea we need to know more about how much you drive it, where you drive it...what are your intentions for the car.

Eventually it will be on juice or blown. I was watching the vids of Killspray in his juiced Cobra...got me thinking 4.10s. Before the other day I was pretty much set on 3.73s...now I dunno

Can't go wrong either way. If you go roots, twin screw blower or turbo, 3.73. 4.10s if you go with a centrifugal blower or juice.

4.10's. I absolutely love mine. I wish I would have saved money and went with those first rather than the 3.55's.

i really comes down to your goals with the car...if you want a daily driver that you can still cruise with then 373 are the way to go and if you want a bad ass dragster then you go with 430s :)

I have 4.10's in my NA GT and it's daily driven.. and I drive mostly on the highway. It's all in how you drive the car.. I use to go 80mph all the time until I got the gears.. now I usually go 70 and I get the same gas mileage lol

Im just curious: So is it safe to go with 3.73 on a turbo motor or is that to much for it. Someone tried telling me to go 3.55 over 3.73 if I go turbo. Could you please clarify this. (by the way I have a 02 GT) THanks in advance you guys

I voted for neither. Have 4:30's in mine and it goes thru the traps around 6200.......just right for me.

Yes its true, steep gears with a turbo will make you're car run through gears too quickly. But for the thread starter I'd definatly get 4.10's.

3:73:s or 4:10s

I loved my 4:10s in my 86 f-150 with a c6 tranny... Currently I own a 2001Gt im glad i went with 3:73's over the 4:10s at 76mph i do around 2,600 rpms... both gears are great but I find 3:73s more streetable.... Is that a word? You know what I mean!

If you hadn't noticed this thread is old...and I got gears a long time ago. Went with 4.10s, don't know if I ever posted that. Keep posting for those with the same question in the future.

For 2V modulars

I'll go with a different answer than most and say 3:55's.

Here is a dyno of a 03 GT with all the bolt ons (LT headers, full exhaust, accufab etc etc.)

bestaccuvstock.jpg

You'll notice that peak HP is hitting at about 5,000 RPM and more importantly peak torque is hitting right at about 42-4300 RPM's.

For this car a gear ratio that put him right at about 4000 RPM on a upshift would be perfect. He would hit right at the upswing to peak torque to get that car moving in the next gear. As you can see the 2V modular doesn't really like high RPM but it does have a modest and flat torque curve. For this reason taking advantage of that torque by having a little more gear would also be advantageous. With 3:55 gears you'll hit right at 4000-4100 on your upshift from redline.

I had originally bought 3:55's because at the end of my build (at least 600rwhp) they would be better suited for that power. However after reviewing my dyno my peak torque is still hitting in the 4200-4300 range so they're perfect for me right now.

Anyone have any 4V dyno's? I would be interested in seeing them.
