All things being equal between two GT500s with typical upgraded control arms, blower pulley, air intake and tune, what ET improvement are 3:73 gears worth over stock? Mike

Well here is my test, not same day, similar weather conditions. I ran my car 3 times, 2 out of 3 times it spun on the 60ft. My mph in the 1/8 mile was 95mph with stock gears and crappy 60ft, 2.1 range. I swapped to 3.73, ran 97.5mph 1st time out with 2.0 60ft. Next pass I went 99.5mph with 1.8 60ft, its worth the switch. This was with 91 octane vmp tune with 2.6 pulley, stock blower at time and upper, lowers, lca and d-specs.

BTW, the car just so much better with 3.73's also, hardly any clutch chatter and I like to punch it in 2nd and 3rd at times, I don't have to be going 60-70mph to be in the sweet spot anymore. Now you can be going like 40-50mph range in 2nd and have some fun.

yes 373s are a great upgrade from the 331's but if you already have 3.55s it may not be worth it

Good information. I am running the 3.31's in mine and my best MPH in 1/8 was 101.5. See sig for mods of car.

Thanks for sharing

Thanks for addressing the issue with cold hard factual info. Excellent and informative post about an issue I was quite curious about.
