I know this is not exactly a new topic or anything but I figured I could post up a few pics of 285/35/19's on brembo wheels.

I have no rubbing issues at all and there inst a terrible amount of sidewall bulge either.

FWIW, I just got 275/35/19s all around put on my Brembo wheels. I'm lowered with Steeda Ultralites, and they work great. I was seriously considering 285s, given all the threads you see with them on Brembo wheels... but I'm extremely paranoid about safety, so I decided to go with max manufacturer recommended.

I asked Hankook (ended up getting Ventus V12s) about running their 285s on a 9" wheel, and they told me no, it's not recommended. Of course I expected this answer. This was the explanation:

"Thanks for the question. A tire that is fitted to “too narrow” or “too wide” of a wheel will prevent the sidewall’s ability to deflect (expand/contract, absorb impacts) properly. This certainly compromises the durability and safety of the tire."

But, it sounds like everybody is running 285s just fine. I'm sure they have some tolerances when they decided on recommended tire width. Some part of me wishes I went 285.

I pulled this from MF from a guy who did 285/35 RE-11's all around. He is on stock suspension so as for being lowered a 285 may rub , again i dont know.

And thanks to Hgen200 for the photos over on AFM. 285/35 rear and comparision them against 255/40

Hey, guys...
I'm another one considering this option.

Any long term feedback from guys who have tried it? Is there a significant performance improvement over the stock 255s even with the less than ideal fit?
