285/35 on Brembo wheels... too wide?

I was just checking, I don't think they would be. I had 275's on 8" wheels before.

I scored a set of basically brand new 285/35/19 rear tires off a GT500 and thought about having them put on my rear wheels.

Anyone on here put anything wider in the back?

The Brembo wheels are 9" wide so they should fit fairly well.

My only concern would be rubbing the inner wheel well. At least on my vehicle, with the 255 section width tires on the brembo wheels, there's not much extra room on the inner fender well. Depending on the curvature of the road while turning, I rub as it is with the factory equipment.

i doubt the 285s would rub, the guy running the 20" 20x11s has 305s on it and he said he has no rubbing issues. but 285s on a 9" wheels might look goofey.

GT500's are 285's on a 9.5 inch wheel. They won't look goofy on a 9" wheel or rub.

yeah i didnt think they would rub, they just might be folded, idk IMHO i dont like folded tires unless its a slick on drag wheels, but thats just personal preference i guess.

I have Goodyear F1 285/40 18s on 9.5" GT500 wheels and thats about as far as I would go, on a 9" wheel it may be a little too much. But if you have the tires why not try it and see.

They are nowhere near rubbing anything on the rear I can see but that depends on the wheel offset and how low the car is.

OP make sure you post pics and let us know how they fit. I was looking at doing the same thing when my pirelli's wear down.

There is a thread on moddedmustangs.com that has pics of 285's on brembos, looks good!

Lemme guess...this thread?

Like I said, they fit and there aren't any issues.

I know this is not exactly a new topic or anything but I figured I could post up a few pics of 285/35/19's on brembo wheels.

I have no rubbing issues at all and there inst a terrible amount of sidewall bulge either.

Nice. I know the 07- current Roush models come with 285's in the front as well as the back. Wonder if they'd fit up front without any issues? I'd like to keep my rotation option open

I can swap them to the front and give it a test once I get a chance if you want.

Would the extra sidewall affect handling? I'm thinking there is going to be a lot more give and flex with 285's on the 9" rim.

All 4? I'm also lowered

Just in the rear, I see no reason to use a 285 in the front cause the 255 gives all the grip the car needs up front in my opinion. There is another member running 285's all around on the brembo wheels and is lowered.
