Just wondering if it would be any kind of safe to run a 285/35/19 on the rear? I have 2012 GT/CS Wheels and I LOVE the looks. I just need a bigger tire. Thanks!

I mean, you can...but you are talking about cramming a tire too big for you wheels. That tire is intended for a 9.5" rim at the smallest.

No way , for the best performance you need a 10 inch wide rim! Your asking for trouble with 8.5!

I ran 275's and it had a slight bulge. Looked good. I wouldn't be surprised if 285's worked fine.

I highly doubt you will even get a 285 to fit on a 8.5" rim. Guys with 9" Brembo wheels have a slight bulge with 285s, subtracting another 0.5" from that is not only not going to happen, but also very dangerous, as any type of aggressive cornering will make that tire just want to rip off even faster.

On a 8.5" wheels, I would run no larger than a 265 tire.

+ 1 265 or upgrade to wider or widen your wheels.

Per the post on Corral, rear tires are 275/40-19 P Zero Neros to replace the stock 245/45-19s, plus a 1" billet spacer.

To me, that just looks goofy as hell having the front tire still sucked into the fender that much, and sticking the rear out more makes it look even worse.

285 MIGHT be doable, as each tire width is slightly different from manufacturer to manufacturer, but I wouldn't chance it...

Agreed the front does not look good. I was commenting on the rear looking better than stock with the wider tire and spacer. Not that I'd personally want to use a spacer like that but to each there own.
