Seriously considering the 18 x 9 chrome Cobra rims ($292 each) from www.performancewheeloutlet.com . I am curious about opinions on what size tire to put on rear. I would like a little wider than what is on now(275/45-17).

Like a 275/35-18? or 295 something, etc....

I had 275/35/18's on my Saleen and they looked great, much better than the 265's it came with. I had 275/40/17's on my Cobra with "R" Wheels and they looked good too. I'm not positive, but 295's would probably work as well.

I've got 275/35/18's all of the way around my R on the stock wheels, which I think are 9.5 inches wide. No rubbing on either end. You can go bigger in the back, but lose the ability to rotate them up front. 265/40/18 will work on all 4 corners also.

on my stock 97 cobra wheels i ran a 295 40 17 lil over hang but fit . it was a little bit unstable at high speeds on sharp turns.i think the rim was a 17x9 stock.....285 fit perfect.

Thanks guys for the quick responses. Probably go with the 285/35-18's then.
