26'tire and 3.55s, what's your 4th gear goes to??

I got told on a race today I'm running out of Gear at 135 on 4th :shrug: I always thought stock gearing on our cars and 26' tire would take us to 145+ on 4th..I'm cruising at 2, 300rpms @ 80mph. Any inputs on why I'm running out of Gear at 135 with my 3.55s??

Because you're only revving it to 6300. Rev it to 9000 son.

But on a serious note shift to 5th or go with 3.27s or 3.08s.

You should be in mid to upper 130's at 6500. My stock tach is off as much as 300 rpm in the upper range. That may be your problem as well. How high you revving it?

Stock wheel/tire, stock gears, 6500rpm = 135mph. 7000rpm will get you to 140mph.
