C7 Z06 is one sick ass looking ride. I probably wont do too many mods on the 500 so I can trade it in on one in a year or two.

I hope this does not turn into the C7 Z06 Vs 13/14 Shelby thread. 2 cars not even comparable IMO as the Z is an overall better car. I think for $78k Chevy did a great job as many expected it to start at $100k. It's a great value and is the complete package.

My issue is I still cannot get used to the rear of the C7 but taking aesthetics out of the equation, it looks like Chevy hit a home run with it.

I'd still take a C6 ZR1 over the C7Z just based on looks. 78K base price for what you get is amazing though.

Can't stand the rear of the regular C7 but for some reason it works on the C7Z for me.

I've thought about canning both my rides to get into a C7Z but ultimately it's better to have 2 nice rides than just one so I'm keeping what I have.

I still haven't gotten used to the styling in the C7s and for folks that want a rear seat American hotrod, I still feel that the GT500 is the best bang for a buck. Plus I am not touching anything GM ever again. I will play the underdog and get into fights with them when I get a chance.

A Z06 is definetly desirable for me, but I would wait a little while for the dealers with their inflated ADM's to drop and still want to see wait Ford brings to the table in 2016 with the new cobra.

I agree, I would own one as well. I loved my C6Z but needed the back seats for my little man. $78K is a good base price, but GM won't build many, if any, base optioned model Z06's unless it gets ordered that way. Here is the pricing list. I would bet you will see $10-25K on top of the MSRP for the first year or so. I'll bet you will see this in a lot of cases...$78,000(base)+8,650(3LZ)+7,995(Z07)+3,995(CFV)=$98,640+$25,000(ADM)=$123,640.00

"1YZ07 Corvette Z06 Coupe -- $78,000.00 MSRP
..........................Destination... $995.00

1YZ67 Corvette Z06 Conv ----$83,000.00 MSRP
..........................Destination ...$995.00

2LZ Z06 Equipment Group 1YZ07/1YZ67 --$3,270.00
3LZ Z06 Preferred Equipment Group 1YZ07/1YZ67 --$8,650.00

Z07 - Performance Package
includes:
(J57) 4-wheel antilock, 4-wheel disc, carbon ceramic brakes,
(FE7) Z07 suspension with Magnetic Selective Ride Control,
(XFM) front P285/30ZR19 and rear P335/25ZR20 Michelin Pilot
Super Sport Cup 2 summer-only run flat tires,
and level 3 Aero Package
(splitter end plates and clear adjustable wicker bill) ----$7,995.00
Requires CFZ or CFV

CFZ - Carbon Fiber Ground Effects Package
includes Carbon Flash-painted splitter and rockers,
and more aggressive rear spoiler ---------$2,995.00

CFV - Carbon Fiber Ground Effects Package
includes visible Carbon Fiber splitter and rockers,
and more aggressive rear spoiler --------$3,995.00"

The new vette is an impressive car. They always do a good job at performance and bang for the buck.

I just think that our cars and vettes are very different. I am not a big fan of corvettes, I never have been. There is nothing special about them. They are very generic looking, and are always overproduced. To each their own.

I mean no disrespect to corvette guys, but I just never had a soft spot for them.

Overproduced?????? The 1.5 millionth Corvette was built in 2009 The 1 millionth Mustang was built in 1966.

See, I never had the affinity for the Corvettes, until this one... maybe I just like heavier cars? lol

I am kind of surprised that with the Shelby at 662 (rumors of the 750bhp Mustang in a year or two) and the Hellcats 707, that they would stop at 650 on the car. Granted different cars and classes altogether, but it almost seems that based on the weight/power at least straight line - it wouldn't take that much for the Shelby to keep up...

But it is awesome how far this thing has come.. I remember getting slackjawed on the 014' z06 with its 405bhp

How can you not get used to this? Pure beauty. And the Z Will take it to another level.

For those that think the car is too heavy, check this list of power-to-weight. This car will be hell for any challengers.

2015 Corvette Z06 - 5.4 (3524/650)
SRT Viper 5.9 (3354/600)
Lamborghini Huracan - 6.1 (3406/560)
McClaren 650s - 6.3 (3162/500)
Ferrari F12 - 6.6 (3362/509)
Corvette Stingray - 7.2 (3298/460)
Porsche 911 Turbo - 7.2 (3500/487)
Lamborghini Aventador - 7.5 (3795/507)
Ferrari 458 Italia - 8.2 (3274/398)
