2014 Shelby Mustang GT500

Black w/Matte black stripes

8,000+/- miles

I had a referral from another client that wanted his Snake corrected and protected. He saw my work on his co-workers 997 Turbo Cabriolet and wanted to setup an appointment. A complete wheel off job was decided upon.

For a very low mileage specimen, it was in poor shape. The entire vehicle was covered in swirls, some heavier scratches and holograms! The finish looked dull and almost grey in color from all of the defects.

My paint readings showed an average of around 4mils.

The final shots will show how this black beauty should look! It is now the boss of gloss! So wet and deep looking! Yeah!

Process/products/tools/etc:

2BW: merino wool wash mitt. Poorboys Super Slick and Foam was used as the wash shampoo and applied via a foam gun.

Clay: Griot’s medium fast surface prep mitt.

Decon: Sonax fallout cleaner.

Adam’s fire hose nozzle and Griot’s water hose.

Dried via Griot’s PFM drying towel and Metro Master Blaster.

Vacuumed via Metro.

Test spot showed that this paint liked Griot’s Fast correcting cream and a Griot’s MF fast cut pad. This was followed up with HD Polish on a yellow Rupes pad.

Machines: Rupes MkII 21, Flex 3401, Rupes iBrid, Range QuickJack.

Lighting: Scangrip w/the bad @ss Scangrip wheeled tripod.

Defelsko PTG.

Misc MF towels and my new all-time favorite towel-Griot’s PFM terry weave towel. These towels are amazing! No lint, feel great, work great, can’t say enough. They are just a boat load of $$$!!!

Engine bay was cleaned with 1Z APC, misc brushes and dressed with Blackfire AIO Tire and Trim.

Interior was hit with McKee’s Fast Interior detailer.

LSP: 22ple VX Pro 2. This was topped with 22ple VS1 Final Coat.

Trim LSP: Gtechniq C4 Trim.

Glass: Adam’s glass cleaner, dedicated glass MF towel. Topped with 22ple VS1 Final coat.

Wheels: Adam’s wheel cleaner and tire and rubber cleaner.

Wheel LSP: McKee’s Hydro Blue.

Tire dressing: CarPro PERL @ 100%.

Brake caliper and wheel well LSP: Gtechniq C4.

Exhaust tips: Pinnacle exhaust cleaner and brightener.

I hope I haven’t left anything out…if so, please feel free to ask!

I can't believe how rough that thing was, especially for only 8K miles! As always, BEAUTIFUL work!

Every time I see a resurrection like this, I'm convinced my car will never be beyond looking great (again) because I NEVER let it get that bad.

That guy is an animal! Nice work. I'm just curious what something like that would cost? I'm in IL and would like a price range to expect. You can PM
