Being about 2 months away I wanted to get this out there now as there are some rule changes. Major ones being "OEM glass required, stock appearing interior (ie carpet, dash and doors) and oem type cooling system. There are some other little word changes from the last set of rules to clarify things if you were to compare them but overall we felt they were needed. They were already approved by the NMRA for the 2013 races and have been sent out to the supporting players.

Also new for 2013 will be a few more plaques to give away! The NMRA has given us 5 more slots to fill for awards yet to be determined. I was pretty excited about this and already have a couple in mind. I'm working on some more "prizes" but we will see what plays out. As of now this is how it sits. Let's make MIR a good one this year. We were pleased with the 9 cars last year but I think we can do better! Maybe 15 this year? MIR is an awesome facility and Jason (track manager) takes great care of us. Please pass this along on your local boards to get the word out!

Also remember the MIR event will also host the SVT 20TH Anniversary Shootout. There will be another thread for that but for you that want to race in two races here you go!

RULES



Class Description

Terminator / GT500 Shootout is for OEM chassis (VIN verified) '03-'04
 Cobra and '07-'13 GT500 stock bodied vehicles using a Ford modular 4.6 
or 5.4 V-8 (4v) based engines only.



Qualifying Information

Ladder Type & Tree, All Run, NHRA Pro .400 tree, Heads-Up

1: ENGINE

1.1 COOLING SYSTEM
Entire cooling system must be contained within the engine compartment. RADIATOR: OEM production-style or aftermarket radiator is required and must be mounted in stock location. Stock core support is required.
WATER PUMP: Any aftermarket (belt drive or electric drive) pump permitted. COOLING FANS: Any permitted.
1.2 ENGINE: Engine must be a Modular 4.6/5.4 based V-8 Ford engine. Internal
modifications are permitted.
1.3 EXHAUST
1.3a) HEADERS & COLLECTORS: Any headers and/or collectors permitted.
1.3b) EXHAUST TUBING/SIZE: Any tubing size permitted.
1.3c) TAILPIPES: Not required.
1.5A) FUEL-DELIVERY SYSTEM DELIVERY SYSTEM: All fuel
lines must originate and return to a single, non- segmented, fuel cell or
OEM fuel tank.
1.6 GASOLINE:
All fuels permitted including E85
1.6b) NITROUS OXIDE\SUPERCHARGER\TURBOCHARGER: Any permitted.
Power adders: Any power adder or combination of power adders permitted
(nitrous oxide, supercharger, or turbocharger or a combination)
 Meth injection OK.
1.9 OIL SYSTEM OILING SYSTEM: Any permitted. Any oil pan permitted.
1.18 VALVETRAIN: Any permitted.
1.21 INTAKE MANIFOLD: Any permitted.


2: DRIVETRAIN
2.4 DRIVESHAFTDRIVESHAFT: Any permitted.

2.11 REAREND: Any automotive type rearend permitted.

2.12 TRANSMISSION: Any automatic or manual transmission permitted



3: BRAKES & SUSPENSION
3.4 FRONT SUSPENSION:
3.4a) K-MEMBERS: Aftermarket K-
Members permitted, but must attach to the chassis using only the
original factory OEM type mounting bolts in the factory
mounting location. No part of the K-member may be permanently attached
to the chassis. K-member may be modified in oil pan area to allow oil
pan enlargement or removal.
3.4c) CONTROL ARMS: OEM or tubular stock type control arms required which
are attached in stock location.

3.4d) SHOCKS/STRUTS: OEM or aftermarket style shocks/struts & springs
required in stock location.

3.4e) SPRINGS: Aftermarket springs permitted.

3.4f) COIL OVERS: Coil over struts permitted. Stock OEM mounting location
required.

3.4g) CAMBER PLATES: Bolt on type camber plates permitted.

3.4 SUSPENSION, REAR SUSPENSION:
STOCK TYPE SUSPENSION: Stock type suspension may utilize aftermarket,
direct replacement type suspension components including aftermarket
replacement shocks, springs, and/or control arms. All stock type 3-link and
4- link suspensions must maintain stock lateral angles and attachment
points, but may be moved up or down on rear axle. Aftermarket torque arms
permitted.
3.4c) REPLACEMENT CONTROL ARMS: Replacement aftermarket OEM style upper and
lower control arms permitted. Control arms may use any type bushing,
bearing, or rod end. Control arms may be adjustable to any length.

3.4d) PANHARD BARS: Panhard bars permitted to control lateral movement of
rearend housing. Panhard bars must be located aft of rearend housing, and
control only lateral rearend movement. Panhard bars may be welded.

3.4e) SWAY BARS: Aftermarket or factory sway bars permitted.
Aftermarket sway bars may be welded to both chassis and rearend housing.

3.4f) TORQUE ARMS: Permitted.

3.6 WHEELIE BARS: Prohibited.



4: FRAME
4.4 FRAME: Stock, unaltered frame rails required in front subframe.
 Subframes may be joined under car. If connector protrudes through floor,
floor must be completely welded to connector. Stock front /rear subframes must
remain stock, unaltered, and in stock location.

5: Tires and WHEELS:
5.1 Tires: Any tire allowed
5.2 Wheels: Spindle mount wheels prohibited


6: INTERIOR
6.1 INTERIOR: Must maintain stock appearance; including factory OEM dashboard, headliner, & steering column cover. Heater/air conditioners may be removed.
6.4 CARPET: Floor and tunnel where visible must be upholstered or carpeted. Headliner required.
6.5 SEATS: Upholstered OEM or aftermarket upholstered seats in stock location are required. Passenger seat may be removed for weight reduction. Rear seat may be removed
6.6 DOOR PANELS: Door panels must be covered and stock appearing.

7: Body: OEM steel (fiberglass/composite if OEM equipped) body shell required. Aftermarket body kits are permitted. Hood is required, may be made of lightweight material.. Any rear wing permitted. OEM safety glass windows required & must be functional. Lexan prohibited.
7.5: FIREWALL: Stock, unaltered firewall required,

9: SUPPORT GROUPS: Trans brake and 2 step ok
