2011 with 2.59 upper,90mm idler, will a smaller belt be better than an aux idler?

I have a 2011 gt500 with a 2.59 stock look pulley, stock lower, and 90mm idler. I see alot of people running into slip issues and choosing to use a $200+ aux idler. Is using a smaller belt a better or more economical solution?

2.59 Pulley with a 90 MM Idler under the intercooler inlet/outlet or on the stock tensioner takes up the belt slack. Or you can run a shorter belt.

I stock the shorter belts as well as the 90 MM Idler Pulleys

I ran that same setup, with the aux idler zero belt slip on the stock belt. With an offroad xpipe I was still seeing 13lbs of boost.
