That's great for 'Vette buyers... I haven't looked at a new ZR1 for several months and that one had a 123K sticker price. They weren't offering any discount that day. With a drop of 14K, it's still going to be more than 2 GT500's, so for most, the ZR1 is out. Of course, GM didn't expect it to sell like the others anyway. Would the ZR1 be less than the GT500 at 14K off(not like I think there's such a deep discount on that, but still).

Guys a local Chevy dealer here in LA still has a brand new 2009 ZO6 on their lot.
They are advertising it for $20k off MSRP.
$14k discount from them and another $6k in rebates from Chevy

Oh the Z06 and ZR1 are still more then a GT500. Best I've seen has been around 59K and 99K respectively.

Personlly, I wouldn't opt for all the optional crap, and I'm sure those looking that hard at the perfomance wouldn't tack on an additional 15k in options ;) Not to mention I am sure you'd be paying a lot less than MSRP on the Cheby.

That's my point though, if you're going to compare prices compare base prices or loaded prices. Either way there is a price gap. Those looking for performance don't need a fully loaded GT500 either.

Base GT500 $48K
Base GS $55k
Base Z06 $74K

The 2011 GT500
Is capable of running high 11s at 120+
Since the KR did an 11.8X@ close to 121 with less power and more weight.

I read that a mag driver ran a 12.2 in a new GT500, so I could see a well practiced owner dipping into the 11's factory stock. The launch is TRICKY, no doubt.
