Is there anyway to eliminate the limiter on the new 2011 GT500??

Its stops at 150mph, but was just wondering if you can turn it off without using any kind of program adjustment..

your answer is no. You have to turn it off using a tune program.

a tuner cost like $300-400 depending on the brand. Probably won't even cover half of your car payment. So I think you'll be fine if you ever want to go faster then 150mph.

I wouldn't bother tunning this car anyway, im pretty sure Shelby knows what their doing. Maybe in a year or two ill look into it

I heard a tune alone could net you 60+ HP to the wheels. Might be worth looking into.

not to mention the inscrease in fuel economy a good tune can net you aswell!
But I beleive that 2011s without a limited can hit 180+, I know the previous gen could hit that without a governor, so I'm sure with better aero, etc.

My dad used to race cars etc, lots of tests done on tues, he has a Z06 vett and apparently it reduced his performance quite a bit on the race track, so it has kinda put me off. lots of ppl can say power etc but until u dyno ur own vehicle who knows

Cars are tuned to run well enough everywhere although driving conditions in Colorado are quite different than in S. Florida.

Good point, Ill def consider it some day but I still have yet to drive the car lol its ****en winter!!
