2011 Catoctin Mountain Cruise!!! Sunday, November 13th!

It's that time of the year folks! Time for the 10th(or 11th) annual Catoctin Mountain Cruise (CNC), made famous by our very own Greg Cassidy!

Lets make this a good one... as we always have. I missed last years do to a halfshaft issue the night before, but I'm going to make sure I'm up and running this time. So its time for the famous Catoctin Mountain cruise! I want to plan it for the 2nd weekend in November... hopefully everyone can make it. Post up if you're if you'll be in attendance. I obtained the map and plan on doing this several times before November, but I figured I'd start a thread and get a formal date down for everyone to come together and do it.

DETAILS:

We will be meeting at Hillandale Safeway in Silver Spring at 8:30am with a departure time of 9:00am. At approximately 9:45am we'll be stopping at the State Farm building on Route 15 (just north of Frederick) for a final rallying point before beginning the cruise.

This is one of the best events i have ever attended with my car. I vote for Sunday since there will possibly be less traffic on the roads.

I would vote for Sunday also, it works out better with traffic and people's work schedules.
Can't make it that weekend though. It's the last race at Summit Point and I'm in a points battle for 2nd.

Ok, its already clear that Sunday is going to be the day... Lets do this...

I'm going to change the voting up for the weekend rather than the day. I want this to be an event that everyone can attend so I'm thinking lets move it to the following weekend, November 13th.

But you'll never get a weekend where everyone can make it.

You want to check events in Thurmont and the Catoctin Natl Park/Cunningham Falls Park to make sure there's nothing big going on the weekend you pick.

Also, the reservations of camp pavilions at Cunningham Falls closes at the end of October in case you plan on using any of them.

This was fantastic last year. If you make only one MACA event this year, make it this one.

Haven't missed this for the last couple years. I'm in for whichever weekend and Mel (girlfriend) will be taking pics like last year. She's looking forward to it just as much as I am. :thumbsup:.

I voted for Saturday. Only because I work nights and my Sunday night is like everybody else's Monday. Also late afternoon traffic heading back east gets quite heavy around Frederick. Either way I'll probably be in. It's just hell going to work with no sleep.

A vote for Sunday is a vote for Nov 13 (also a Sunday)

Just thought I'd repeat that since some folks (like me sometimes) scroll past what they already read. LOL

If it falls on the 13th, I'm in, probably still stickered up from Summit Point the preceding weekend.
