I was wondering, what times do the GTs put down in the 1/4 mile.
I'm talking about completely stock.
I'm competing against a guy who has a 2011 GT 6 spd, It's supposed to be stock with the exception of a UCA and wider tires in back.
Their not drag radials, I'm talking street tires.
He has stock exhaust, aircleaner, Tune, lower control arms etc.
He's running low 12.3s to 12.4s consistently.
Is this the potential of a GT? Or is he just a extremely good driver?
He's trapping 117mph and cutting 1.82 60fts.

Its both.

With those times, he is:

1.) a good driver
2.) thrashing the hell out of that driveline
3.) squeezing all the potential out of a stock 5.0

117 seems high to me for stock, I'm not an expert yet though. Either way, with a tire these are good for mid 12's.

That trap seems high for a completely stock GT. I've seen people getting that with mild bolt-ons and a tune. Stock 2011/12 GT's have normally been trapping 110-112 mph. What was the da for the night he ran?

117mph seems really high for a "stock" car. I ran 12.90 @ 110mph on stock 19" Pirelli A/S radials in my 6M with 3.73's. Post procal I ran 12.40 @ 115mph on the same tires and relatively same weather conditions.

The trap speed has my attention. I didn't realize they could trap 115-117...
I have a Boss 302 Stock on factory street tires and Run a best of 12.31 and 1.82 60fts..i can't beat him, it's killing me lmao

I hope my car runs anything in the 12's around 110.

12.3 at 117, Hes not hiding a JMS 75 shot on you is he? Got a bag in the trunk?

I'm not sure, I doubt it, I am thinking he's running maybe E85. Is there a way to tell?
From the outside, I've looked the car over, there's no headers, still has Cats, Seen the stock lower control arms, and the stock air cleaner is still intact.

I'd guess tune and e85 by the sounds of it. I'm tuned on stock tires and I was trapping 113 at 2500 DA.

If he is running E85, check his tailpipes after a few runs. They should be clean, not the black carbon buildup from gasoline.

Ahhh ok, Thx I was wondering what I could look for. Maybe I'll even wipe them clean and keep a eye on them.
We compete in a Street class, you are allowed as many mods as possible, as long as your naturally Aspirated and running street tires.
I'm just amazed how well he's doing and curiosity is killing me.
