PHOTO GALLERY It perhaps is the ultimate 911, and now it’s getting even better. Porsche will unveil an updated 911 GT3 at the Geneva motor show on March 3 with engine and chassis refinements that bolster its gripping performance.

It goes on sale in the fall as a 2010 model with a sticker of $113,150, including shipping.

The naturally aspirated six-cylinder boxer engine is boosted 20 hp to an output of 435 hp--the result of an increase in displacement to 3.8 liters and vario-cam technology on the intake and exhaust. This grows torque for everyday driving, while the GT3’s performance chops also are reinforced: 0-60 mph in four seconds flat and a top speed on the track of 194 mph.

The driving experience also is helped thanks to Porsche’s active suspension management, which stiffens the springs, and antiroll bars. This makes for better handling in sport mode, the company says. In a first for the GT3, it comes with stability management, which includes suspension mapping like the GT2. Drivers can turn off stability and traction control in separate steps.

The engine and chassis are joined with new mounts that use magnetic fluid to automatically stiffen when the car is driven with gusto. Porsche says this results in a more rigid experience on fasts bends and winding tracks, fortifies daily driving--and, our favorite--improves traction for accelerating from a standstill.

A new aero package creates twice the downforce of the previous GT3 and updates the car’s look with larger vents in the front and rear bumpers. It also gets bixenon headlights, LEDs for the rear clusters and modified air intakes.

Brakes are upgraded with larger discs and weight-reducing aluminum hubs. Ceramics also are available.

Worried about steep driveways? A new lift system that employs an onboard air compressor can be used to lift the front end about 1.18 inches at speeds up to 30 mph. The wheels also are lighter and the car is fitted with performance tires.

Pic are at autoweek, Iam not sure how to upland them.:rockon:

Regardless of how fast a car is (AKA the ZR1), I always think about what looks best pulling up to that "place" you all wanna show your car off at...

As far as the purest driving experience you can get, nothing beats the GT3 except maybe Ferrari's 430 Scuderia. ZR1's are fun and fast, but still have room to improve.
