I have owned and daily driven a 2010 Mustang GT 4.6L 3V for the last 5 years and racked up over 100K miles recently. The car has stayed stock it's entire life except for a Roush Catback and the factory option 3.73 rear. Didn't even bother tuning the car being as I drive it so much I just wasn't really concerned with the performance, more about keeping it reliable. My last 3V Mustang (Yellow Saleen) I went overboard with and got out of hand for a DD. However now I am close to having the car paid off, looking into a second vehicle so the gears started to spin. I always wanted a Coyote and felt kind of silly for not waiting on the 2011 when I purchased my 2010.

I started pulling some parts we had laying around the engine room and was able to come up with some of my old parts and some stuff we had from old race engines. Found a spare block, 3.750" Stroker Kellogg crank that needed some polishing, a set of my original Stroker 3V NA flat top Manley pistons and rings, all I needed was to order a set of rods and bearings. So I did! Our engine builder Tommy Martino brought it back yesterday from the machine shop as a complete Shortblock! Later this week we are going to assemble a spare set of heads with New Valves, guides, and seals. Then top them off with a set of Pac Valve Springs and Comp 127300 Cams! Being the car is still pretty much totally stock I'm going to poke around the storage shed and see if we have any headers, UD pulleys, maybe a larger intake and throttle body. With any luck we should be looking around 350+ RWHP on 93 octane! Which should be plenty enough to leave an unsuspecting stock(ish) Coyote in the dust!

I'll keep the thread updated as we go along with the build and get some pictures of the new engine as soon as its on a stand.

A 5.0 owner that looks at the GT badge on the side and says "oh its just a 4.6....my car can beat a Veryon, I have nothing to worry about" will get dusted by it...so all of them actually ;)

Jp- what wheels are those?

Is it just me or does a bare 3V longblock look like Johnny 5?

~350whp isn't going to be leaving any stock coyote in "the dust"

Dont know about that. I ran my friends 2013 Boss 302 and i only had 360whp and we were neck and neck. Mods consisted of FRPP heads, 127200 cams(too small), c&l intake manifold and full bolt-ons. Id say a 350-360whp 3 valve could easily beat a stock coyote car. If he uses 127300's or even 127500's in the stock heads he will make serious power. 127300's have a better idle but dont make the peak power of the 127500's. I went with 127200's since it was the mildest street cams i could find.

If the heads are ported, the 127300's will make more than 350whp though. Jim where did you get the magical 350whp number from? I could see a flat top piston equipped stroker engine with some mild port heads/127300's put down close to 400whp. That would put a serious hurting on a coyote. Also why not the FRPP manifold over the plug delete version? I had the C&L intake manifold and it screamed past 7000rpm.
