  • 2010 Chevy Silverado Pick up
    Black
    Mileage unknown

This is the work truck make over! This pick up has seen better days. The paint finish has been extremely neglected. It lives outside all the time. It has never had any maintenance that I know of. It has never been clayed.

The finish was dull, lifeless, hazy, oxidized, full of water spots, etching, swirls, scratches, dents, etc.

Let’s see what can be done!!!

McKee’s37 N914 Waterless wash.
Super-secret beta test clay bar. (I’m digging it, works well with the fine stuff and the heavy duty jobs)
Pinnacle detail spray as lube.
Rupes 21 MkII.
Meg’s red cutting disks.
Super-secret beta test compound. (It is holding its own up against some other heavy hitters)
Scangrip lighting.
Misc. MF towels.
Meg’s 365 paint sealant was the LSP.
Blackfire glass cleaner.
McKee’s37 headlight protectant spray.
Blackfire tire gel for tire dressing.

Thanks for looking! This was a fun project to work on…I love seeing drastic 50/50’s and before/afters. I can’t wait for the owner to pick it up!!

Thanks for looking!

That turns out excellent man, great job! We'll be looking at a Silverado soon right after we finished installing the new bumper, warn winch and skid plates on the current Wrangler project. The Silverado is '09 with a few dents but in great shape. A good candidate for a make over.

I hit it all with the Megs 365. It was only temporary, it won't last.

If you want your plastics to look good, ceramic/glass coat them! They will look great and stay protected!

Good to know! I've always used solution finish but I am always looking for new things too. I like solution finish, but don't think it's gods gift to earth like everyone else seems to

SF is good stuff. Some people were having longevity issues with it, however that could have been the prep prior to application. You can also coat over SF without any issues.

Damn talk about a fresh new look. The owner should be very happy.

Frankly this is why I always tell customers of mine that think they want an all over paint job to first find a solid retailer and let them work their magic.

Geez you sure saved that thing. Crazy!

What do you use on the headlight lenses? My POS DD focus lights are all yellowed out and cuts down on visibility at night. I feel like they can't be saved but curious what you think I could try.

Thanks!

I compounded then polished them. I wanted to try that prior to wet sanding them. I think I then coated them with McKee's37 headlight coating if I remember.
