Just wanted to get some opinions on this..
My 2008 GT500, with about 4k in miles..
When the car is cold (IE, when it is first stared up in the morning, especially when the temperature outside is Cold and the car has not been driven for 24 hours.... The gears tend to grind (just a little bit) even with the clutch fully pressed in. Its barely noticeable, but defaintely there. Happens on the 1-2 and the 2-3 the most..

Once the car is warmed up (Driven for about 2 miles with a few shifts, it completely goes away.

So my question to all of you is..
Should I take this in for warranty work? My fear is that they wont be able to find a problem, since it only does it when it is cold.. Is this worth chasing? Or do alot of them out there, do this?

My other fear is.. IF I let this go... Is this going to end up being a magor issue?

Thanks for the opinions & experiences.

Mine is same way...haven't really worried about it TBH but a more knowledgeable opinion is certainly welcome.

14k miles and Ive experieced that twice on mornings that
were near freezing 1-2 shift only. Never had any issues after
warm up. I wouldnt be concerned at all, however if it begins
to happen regularly after warm up, I would take it to the dealer
and begin to make the case for TSB etc.
For what its worth, my 03 Mach1 did the same thing and it never
became an issue.

Mine did it as well when it's cold, but changing the fluid out to Amsoil Synthetic ATF fixed it.

Amsoil Synthetic ATF

I never hear a 1-2 shift grind now, even in the cold. I might hear a little crunch from 1-2 when I first start it up and try to shift to fast. *Yes, this was when it was 27* in Florida*

When it's hot, the gears shift smooth as butter, and never grinds unless it's operator error. Upgrade your fluid, and enjoy your car.
