Yesterday my buddy and I met up at Starbucks to show each other our "new to us" cars. He has a 2006 WRX with an intake, turbo-back exhaust, and a chip/tune (all Cobb parts, I believe). He claims he ran an 11.5 at around 110 a few months ago. I called complete BS, but he insisted that since he launched it perfectly and powershifted the whole way that it wasn't an unreasonable claim. What do you guys think..is this even possible?

With an aftermarket turbine maybe.
With an intake, exhaust, chip and tune?
It doesn't sound realistic to me.

They aren't that fast up top at all.
Always easy pickin's on the highway unless they are modded up well.

You should race him and see. You might be able to see him break the glass tranny.

2002-2003's have the glass tranny. The 2006 is fairly strong.

There is no way that he could achieve those times, short of launching his car out of a slingshot at the line. I would even venture as far to say that he would be a very lucky man to break into the 12's with that car.

his trap speed is way low for his time. He should be somewhere around 125ish. This is from the subaru regsitry.
