First let me apologize if this is the wrong area to post I had trouble finding a specific one. So my problem is I live in CA and my catalytic converters are cracked but no check engine light is on. I have smog test coming up in about 3 weeks and was wondering if the car will still pass? If not would i be able to replace the cats with high flow( dont think they are smog legal in ca) or just replace the x-pipe with a catted X, that is whats on there now not sure of brand but only 2 cats on it. I dont beleive those are stock becuase i have steeda mufflers and think that the previous owner also changed the x-pipe. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I want to fix it to sell so i can upgrade to a cobra

The land of commies and socialists!
High flow cats are really hit or miss. I looked into high flow cats a while back and found out that abotu 90% of the people running them pass by the skin of their teeth, even when new. Honestly I wouldn't bother with them for that reason alone. I wouldn't sink anymore money into the car then you have to if you plan to sell it.

Even though the check engine light isn't on you stand a good chance of not passing and personally I wouldn't risk it. Look on CL and ebay for a stock H pipe and be done with it.
