In 2010 when I got out of the Marine Corps I purchased a 2003 SVT Cobra, it was a pullied, cai, catback, solid axle car, very basic and had about 86k miles on it. I drove it for 2 years and put about 22k miles on myself easily. With all the driving I was doing, I was getting bored and also getting sick of H/C/Nitrous LS cars walking me all day long so I decided it was time to do something about it.
So now for the progression...
Relatively stock, stock suspension and ride height

I started tearing it down because it was a little heavy and slow. Here is the weight with no rear amp rack or speakers, a solid rear axle, and before any weight reduction.

Started stripping it

I purchased a cheap budget turbo kit with 57mm cast wheel journal bearing turbos, and purchased all my suspension components.

After everything was finished it was under 3000 pounds even with the TT kit on it.

Well thats when everything went horribly wrong. The car was maybe 80% complete and I ran into some severe financial issues. lost my job, car almost got repossessed, and had to make the choice of go back to stock and sell everything or lose the car completely. the obvious choice occurred and everything had to go. still kept the nice return style fuel system and suspension but the eaton went back on.

Picked up a nitrous kit as well

Wasnt very happy with the car back to basically stock aside from all the suspension and cage and such, so.... now that I have a better situation going on, time to fix it, once and for all...

So I'm back! haha, sorry for the delay ladies and gents... made a tiny bit of progress and a tiny bit of backwards.... progress.... i cut the 6 point out of the car but now it looks like the chute and 10 point may be on hold... but the twin kit is steaming ahead on schedule! picked up my turbos as well, got a killer smokin' deal that i couldnt pass up so i stepped up from the Comp's i had a deposit on and went with Precision. Huron Speed Products had by far the most AMAZING pricing...

Turbos: Precision PT6262 CEA billet wheel, journal bearing turbos. Ported "S" cover, Precision V-Band in/out turbine housing with .64 a/r. I went with the smaller .64 a/r instead of the .82 so i can keep spool time to a minimum even though it will hurt overall top end pull. i figure i can always up it to the .82 eventually when i get an auto.
Blowoff Valve: TurboSmart 50mm Race Port BOV. decided on this one for the ultra compact size yet similar flow rate as the Tial Q

Thanks guys, yea im happy it is finally coming together! its been a long and rough road!!! I would love to see 1000+whp on this car next year if possible. went with 62s instead of 58s because i eventually want an auto and these small a/r 62s should spool just as good or similar to an average 58 i see other cobra guys run. the precision v-band is basically a t3 sized setup but they claim better flow characteristics. also, i paid $850 a piece, they retail for $1100 a piece as they are optioned out, would of been $1200 a piece i think with ball bearing option but i feel its unnecessary to go BB with the billet wheel unless i got 67s which i wont do since its a street car.

I can't remember exactly but my BB units were close to $1400 a piece I believe and that was a good deal. I know they weren't cheap.

I had 58's prior and they put down over 1000rwhp. I don't think you'll have an issue with the new 62's making that power. You might want that auto soon though!

Well, slight update... things are going slow as im saving money so i can buy stuff en mass and do bigger amounts of work at one time instead of little things here and there soooo.... the good news is, i may have finally found a built auto to go in the car and the good news is, it is a 4spd with a multi disc lockup so i figure i can drive around in low boost on the street and have it still be a good street car, and still be able to hammer down on the track. its a 4r75w, circle d triple plate lockup, freddy brown fmvb with t-brake, steel flex plate, trans is all beefed up with a bunch of freddy brown stuff. came out of a turbo cobra that was making 800whp as well so hopefully she will hold up. also will be coming with the relay setup so i can turn on and off the O/D, Lock up, and the T-Brake.

So im picking up a 4r75w w a fmvb and i was wondering what shifters any auto guys are using. I saw someone on here sells shifter relocation kits or something which would be fantastic since im only 5'6" but, either way i dont want to use the hammer shifter. A friend of mine has it and im not a fan, i dont know why but i just never liked it. Any input is greatly appreciated since im new to the auto world
