Have any of you put a 2003 Cobra motor in your car NA before? Long or short block? I have a Mach1 I am thinking of doing this to. Curious as to how sluggish the car was if the gas mileage was horrible with lack of compression etc

I see this question come up every once in a while on the GT500 forums too. I still don't understand the reasoning for it.

For what it's worth I did something similar to my old Mitsubishi Eclipse after blowing a turbo in college. Turbo 4g63 was 7.8:1 compresion and 195hp with the turbo, non-turbo 4g63 was 9:1 compression and made like 120hp. Threw on the appropriate exhaust manifold, blocked off oil lines, and rigged thee intake up. Car was painfully sluggish compared to the 120hp version of the same car.

I'd wager that the Cobra motor would be similar in comparison to it with the blower, although not as bad as the 4.6 isn't running 7.8:1 compression so you may be still looking at 200-250hp.
