2001 Ford Excursion - Brake/Power Steering Connection?

Have a 2001 Ford Excursion Diesel and recently have had some issues with the power-steering.
I changed the power-steerng pump due to some pulley noise and now noticed that the steering tightens when the brakes are applied but is normal when running.
Has anybody encountered this or know about this problem?

I'm not 100%, but I believe there is some kind of vacuum setup...you may Google Powerstroke Power-steering Brake Vacuum

Is the truck equipped with vacuum brakes or hydroboost? Vacuum brakes will be a round booster unit with a vacuum like running to it, hydroboost will be an iron booster unit with power steering lines running to it.
