I have a 4lb lower on my car and stock alt pulley. I've researched on the board and it seems that the alt redline is around 16k shaft rpm.

Since the ratio of alternator speed to engine speed is about 3.3:1, that would mean that a 4k engine speed, the alt shaft speed is around 13.1k.

If I kept my shift points at around 2.5k, does anyone have an opinion on driving this thing daily for about a week with no racing or high rpm shifts?

Has anyone else driven on it in the interim and been ok?

Get a 3.5" pulley to underdrive the alt. For a short time (week) I don't think you will have an issue. Don't red line it, keep the revs down.

i would suggest talking to your tuner. My tuner recommended leaving the stock alt pulley on. I have run a 2.93/4lb with stock alternator for about 5 yrs and over 10,000 miles.
