Hey guys was just wondering who's running the 2.8 here on 91 Octane tune, and if there are any ill effects, when I changed my pulley I was told that 2.93 was as small as I wanted to go on a 91 octane tune, any thoughts?

I'm running a 2.8" on mine without any problems. Make sure you get the idler pulley as well. The stock cover for the blower will have to be done with. In addition, check out RPM Outlet for this application. Finally, as mine is only an occasional weekend driver I am running SUPER 104 Octane boost per tank (the black bottle). Otherwise, I would recommend running Sunoco 94+ octane to prevent detination as the boost from the 2.8" is way past the factory gauge!

Thats just it, mine is a daily driver so I wanted to be able to run pump gas, an we only get 91 octane here in CA, although I have found one Gas station with 92.

Hey Carlton.

2.80 is just fine with the regular 91 Octane. Its all in ur tune brotha.

But im getting to believe that the RR Pulley's are the way to go.

Hey P Moddy, what kind of belts are they running with the RR pulleys, Gatorback belts get shredded with those right?

Sorry Carlton....no RR for me but im thinking of getting either a 3.00 or 2.90rr by Next Year some time :(

Just that Pulley has been proven to me by 3 O.G. Snake Pit Team.
Plus Tetge's tried them all & resulting some great times with the RR.

They are all running the Gates/Nappa belts & with no shredding.

I should have got the rr 2.80 instead of the regular AR press on 2.80, since it slipped badly even with all the idlers. The 2.90 slips some. If you get a good tune, you can run the extra boost, although an agressive tune will want some higher octane/better gas than Ca 91.

Get yourself some Torco. Don't use too much or it can foul your plugs and O2 sensors. Half a can in a Mustang gas tank should work fine.

Culver...you East Coast dudes kill me with your posts over here in the Socialist Republic of California forum. 94 octane ...you kidding. Sunoco? What's that? Just kidding...I've seen it on a few of my east coast trips.
Out here the enviromental lobby wants us back in a horse and buggy.
91 octane is all we get. We can purchase higher octane at the track for $5 a gal or donate our first born.

I've been using that stuff for years and swear by it. There is no product that compares to TORCO accelerator, period. It sure as hell beats looking for 100.

are you still on the stock Diablo Pulley tune or did you get a custom tune for your predator? I plan on getting a custom Predator tune when I dyno...hopefully soon.

ADR,
Which station had 92 octane? Is it a common gas station? I've only found 100 which is way to pricey for me to continue even blended.

It was the 76 on Telegraph Canyon Road, but I went there the other day and they had taped 91 Octane stickers over the couple of pumps that had 92, so I guess they don't have it anymore. Or maybe it wasn't really 92 from the get go and they got tested and was told to put the real Octane on there
