How much boost am I going to see with a 2.3 gen 2 and a 3.25 upper?? I only have crappy 91 octane so I'm hoping for 16 psi range but it seems psi is all over the map with these blowers.. Stock manifolds with a catted x and cat back.. Any ideas?

With a stock lower it should make around 15-16 psi. O/R X might drop it to 15. Depends on weather and humidity too, keep that in mind. But you can run 17 psi (3 inch pulley) on 91 with no issue. Don't beat yourself up over the psi, let your tuner do his thang.

Well 3.25 upper only on the dyno today made only 14 psi?? Do u think I have belt slip on losing boost? Oh and it put down 513 on a safe 91 tune... I want 16 or 17 psi should I put a lower on or a 2.9 or 3.00 upper?

boost

You may have slippage, but I doubt it. I have a 2.3 gen 2 and a 3" upper with stock lower making 17.6 lbs @ WOT using 93 octane

Your boost seems just about right with a 3.25, stock lower and 91 oct. You go much more aggressive than that with 91 and you may be boarding the danger zone.

If you want 17 psi, a 3" upper and stock lower will produce that...I am not sure I would want to do that with straight 91 oct, but I am no tuner...

My car made 570 w/ 17-17.6psi on 93 with a safe tune since my fuel was maxed out....

Safe tune is a good idea on cars that hold such good value. I respect my tuner for being that way and that's why he gets my business. Many tuners will push the car to the limit to rep their shop...not on my mint 04 Terminator...Motivates me to get the car built 100% proper before getting more aggressive.

I have done so much home work on pulley sizes=boost. And every post is different. I'm trying to find a pulley for 18-19 ibs on my gen 2 2.3 whipple with longtubes. I'm thinkin 2.9 - 3.0 . Good luck

I would think a 2.75 would be what you want.

A 3.0 pulley on mine is only hitting 16lbs with stock manifolds.

...

Yeah something doesn't add up there. I realize each car is a bit different but those are serious numbers for 13 psi and the setup. Either a dyno thing or a very aggressive tune...Either way good numbers...

you are going to see another lb or so in cool, dry, high barometer air versus muggy, hot, low barometer summer air.

my 2.3 gen 2 with 3.0" makes 17 summer 18 winter. i currently have a 2.6 pulley on the car and it makes 22psi in this terrible summer air. can't wait to see what it hits this winter, it's already a spotted ass ape. manifolds are factory, magn catted xpipe. whipple has a rep as being pretty quiet with the whine....but that idea gets shattered when you go with that 2.6" upper! Mofo screams now, i could hardly hear the 3.0" upper in comparison

About the same here. 13lb on a 2.3 with the stock 3.5 with catback, JLT ram air, and good tune got me 560hp. And CA cheap 91 gas.
