1999 cobra at the 1/8 mile

well didnt run too well but decent i think

275 40 nexens all four corners 28 psi in tires
dynoed 307 at the wheels
with flowmaster cat back and intake and tune
has 3650 trans didnt power shift
and o1 cobra rear 31 spline with stock gear
launched at idle ran a 9.5 at 80mph
car has 139k miles
didnt do a burn out tried once and wheel hopped way to bad
i know with that power should be faster but first time there....

Best 1/8th i ran was 8.09, at 85.75mph. Thats dropping the clutch at 5500rpm's with 4.30's on 17" ET Streets.

I ran my wife's 99 Cobra vert last year. It dynoed at 317 RWHP, 316 RWTQ. It has 315/35/17 Nitto DR's and 4.10 gears. My best times were:

60' 1.972

330' 5.525

1/8 8.421 @ 85.40 MPH

1000' 10.924

1/4 13.036 @ 106.54 MPH


Invest in some DR's and get you some 4.10 or 4.30 gears and you will shave your time on down. Good Luck!!

i ve seen the avg stock Gt run 9.0s. try some tire you should run 8s easy

Get yourself a spare set of wheels (slicks/skinnies) if your going to frequent the track. My 99 with 299rwhp was good for 7.76 @ 86.87mph.....with 312rwhp it went 7.74 @ 89.46mph which I plan to improve later this year. :banana:

Just curious. I am going to the track tonight and we are running the 1/8th mile. All my mods and hp #s are in my sig. What should I expect? I have never ran the 1/8th mile.
