Is there a differance in intank fuel pumps for a 1998 Cobra? If so whats the differance and why can I not use any other 255 that I have laying around.

If there is a way to use the 255 that I already have then what do I need to do.
Thanks,
Roland

255 is only the LPH, and possibly the model of fuel pump, IE a Walboro 255. There can be a 255 for a Corvette, one for a Charger, and one for a Cobra. It's all the same model, but different cars use different fuel pumps. A Cobra fuel pump won't work in a Vette and vice versa.

What is your other 255 supposed to be for?

Also i dont think they make a 255 that will bolt right in cause the 98 is a bastard child. You have to modify the fuel hat. If your looking for a pump for the cobra i suggest buying an aviator pump. They flow like 270 lph and I got mine for $100.

Yeah, the 98 had an oddball fuel system. It is a return style system with a returnless type basket. I swapped in an older tank and basket assembly into my 98 so I could use an aftermarket pump. I got the tank and basket for 60 bucks, then bought a walbro 255lph pump.
