I've had my car down the quarter probably around 5 or 6 times and I am wondering what the normal range of times would be for the car?

For reference it is a '98 cobra and as far as mods go I am almost completely stock with exception to a couple of welded in flowmasters, some eibach sportline springs, and some 18" FR500's.The car has 102k miles on it, and Im probably at best an average driver. The track I've been running at is in Phoenix, AZ (Firebird Raceway)

Right now I am consistently running 14.7-14.8. Another local member on here has an almost identical car which runs a 13.6 with a few mods: gears (4.10) exhaust, intake, and a tune. To me this seems like a pretty dramatic difference, is this normal? could there be something wrong with my car? or do I just need the driver mod?

4:10 gears do help dramatically in those cars. I had a 98 with 410 gears longtubes with full catless exhaust and ran in the 13s consistently. My best was 13 flat

considering I ran 14.3 @99 in 95* weather with my caliber srt4, think it should be alot better in your 98 cobra. Work on your launch by slipping the clutch more on street tires.

also 4:10's and street tires don't mix well.

Trap is a tad lower than I like to see but the 60' is killing you.

Get that down to 2.0 or lower and you are right at 14 flat.

The trap is high enough to where I think the IMRCs are opening and not an issue

low 14s is the average for those cars, gears and tires will get you deep into the 13s.

60' ussually between 2.3"-2.6" with a trap speed between 97-99mph

like already mentioned, work on getting those 60's down in the 1.90-1.99 range and you'll be pulling a 13.9/14.0 which is about right. The trap speed looks like the car is making the right amount of power, just need to drastically work on those 60' times.

His trap isn't that far off, his sixties are horrible though! Ideally OP should be trapping 100-102MPH. A bit better driving could net those gains.

Average bone stock '96-98 Cobras run 13.8-14.0 @ 99-102MPH. They're very similar, stock-for-stock, to '99-04 GTs.

I'm the local Cobra he's referring to. Mods are correct except I don't have an intake at all, just a drop in K&N (all we need).

And actually: The 13.6 was @ 104 or 106 mph, can't recall which of the two. That was with a 1.9x 60ft. On Drag radials 555R's spinning all of first and most of second. Can't get this damn car to stop spinning lol. Having what looks like weight transfer issues.

I think there is more in my car. It should do low 13s, possibly a high 12 with perfect driving. Can't wait for the track to reopen! Gonna look into some MTs :)

Like everyone else said you really need to cut down those 60ft numbers! A 1.9 which is decent will get you a 14 flat or possibly dip into the 13s.

Also for reference, a buddy of mine named Carlos ran his 96 down the track with catless h pipe, mufflers, bbk cai, 4.10s, rear lcas to a 12.98 @ 105mph. He's a great driver. He says it took him lots of practice.
