Can one of you with a 95 Cobra R with the original red spark plug wires on your engine tell me if the wires have "1995" marked on them like the standard Mustang spark plug wires do?

Don't remember that much detail and mine are stored. I know they were the same as the Lightning and that was around for 3 years.

My race one has 1994 on the # 6 wire (red). I didn't see a date on any others, but I didn't get goofy looking. If that doesn't help, I have an original one that I could go look at this weekend.

94 and 95 date codes...
Mark - Mine had 1994 dates on all eight, and if I remember correctly, those 5.8's were final assembled by Roush in the November/December 1994 time period and all of them would have 1994 dated spark plug wires. There was a specific mention of this 5.8L build in one of my books related to the Cobra R's, but I do not remember which book it was. Seems to me that one of the valve cover stickers also had a 1994 date. I also believe that there was a date on the 5.8L "Hot Run Sheet" specific to my 95R 5.8L from Roush, and it was early 1995, which would lead me to believe that assy. parts would have been 1994 dated.

SD, What is the date on your Roush Hot Run Sheet? and does your valve cover sticker also have a 1995 date?
There may have been a mix of years on these cars since the 1995 L would have been in production in late 1994..........

I agree with that. So maybe the printed info. from 1995 that I have (who knows where) is wrong.
If SD's car has not been changed, and I know my 850 mile car was not, apparently both dates did appear on these cars.
I can say for a fact that recently I sold an original dated pair of L Red plug wires, one bank was 1994, one bank was 1995, removed from the same 5.8L, same L.

20 Jan 1995 on the valve cover. Also was on of the first 95 R's built being #13. Nothing under the hood has ever been altered from its factory specs.
I don't think I still have pictures on my valve cover sticker, but I do remember the matching 1994 date to the plug wires. Mine was #108.
As Chris (TheWhistler) has mentioned, apparently 1994 and 1995 dates were on the 1995 Cobra R plug wires.

I started my original "R", #142, Sat. night :banana:, looked at the plug wires, and found one marked "1994" on the left bank. I didn't look at the right bank. :shrug:

Good questions. I am also looking to get an extra original date coded set of the red Cobra -R spark plug wires my car is one of the last built. the spark plug wires are date coded 1995. I called Jim Dingle a performance plus he had one side side that was date coded 1994 left bank and the right bank date coded 1995 is this possible seemed strange to me.

Bob - So far it does not seem like the scenario is as simple as early cars got 1994 dates and later cars got 1995 since #13 has 1995 dated wires and my #108 and Gene's #142 have 1994 dates.

They,(SVT) probably used whatever they had left from the Lightning program. '94 or '95 :shrug:
