SOLD: 1988 ASC Mclaren Mustang Convertible
1988 ASC Mclaren Mustang.
Red with gray interior and a black top. It has 42,9xx miles. Car is all original with all of the original equipment. Does not leak any fluids, runs and drives excellent, and has no rust since it was stored indoors and only driven in nice weather.
ASC Mclaren started with a fully loaded Mustang 5.0 this car has it all, A/C, PS, PB, PW, PL, etc.
BODY:
Excellent condition, as mentioned there is no rust, the paint is also in excellent shape although it does have some scratches, slight cracking on the fascias, and a few rub marks where the top sits. You can see in the pics though that these marks do not detract from the overall appearance.
There are a few small dings on the body, but once again nothing major and you really have to look hard to see them.
All of the Mclaren specific parts are there and not damaged. Parts are still available but they can be expensive, unlike most of the Mclarens out there this one needs no Mclaren parts.
INTERIOR:
Excellent condition, it has the original Recaro seats with seat heaters, headrest speakers, and driver seat lumbar. The seats have been recovered so they look new. There is no damage to the dashboard or door panels. A/C blows cold.
Everything works except the horn and cruise control. The cigarette lighter also doesn't work, there is power going to the receptacle but the heating element doesn't stay in or heat. As with the body all of the Mclaren specific parts are there and not damaged.
ENGINE and RUNNING GEAR:
42,9xx low miles and runs like it. Does not burn oil. Does not leak any fluids. Starts and drives great. Driving this car it is hard to believe it is an 88. Wheels are also in excellent condition, no curb rash and no corrosion.
Brakes are all new as are the tires. Battery is 2 months old.
TOP:
Works. rear window is still clear, has 2 small holes in the sail panels and some threads at the bottom pulling out. This is a real fabric top, there is no sun fade and despite the flaws it is still in better than 95% condition.
