Client was interested in just protecting his still owned since new first vehicle. Wasn’t that concerned with the correction aspect. Plan was to be very conservative in the correction.
The paint was absolutely hammered. Appears to have never been touched in 50+ years! Oxidized, dull, lifeless, cracked, CRAZY swirls, scratches, and anything else you want to throw on top of it…it had it. Single stage paint. But…it has/had patina!
Got super glossy, a lot of the defects/swirls/cracks remained, however, it looks a ton better!

The ‘details’:

McKee’s37 914N waterless wash.
Meg’s #7 wipe/rub down. 3 applications.
Medium clay bar.
DoDo born slippery lube.
DeFelsko PTG.
Scangrip lighting.
Flex 3401, pixie, Rupes iBrid.
LC pads.
M105/M205.
Optimum panel wipe.
Adam’s advanced graphene coating.
GYEON tire.
Metro vacuum.
Pinnacle black label leather conditioner.
McKee’s37 interior detailer.
McKee’s37 interior surface protectant.
Auto finesse glass cleaner.
McKee’s37 APC.

Thank you for looking!

Interesting job. So did the owner want to maintain some of the patina? Or was it a cost/benefit decision? Very nice work on a period cool sports car.

Thanks all! Yep, it's a cool car, owner LOVES it!

Bob, it was a preservation decision, didn't have all that much to work with, and it was thin in some areas, so patina/defects were reduced as much as possible.
