Like the title states, I've been thinking of going with 17x9" FR500's on the front, and 18x10 on the back, are there any disadvantages to doing this? I know that the 2010 camaros come with a 20" front and 21" rear package, but just for tire costs, etc. I was just wondering if there's anything wrong with going with 18" wheels in the rear only.

Other than not being able to rotate the tires there is really no problem with 17 - 18. You do have to pay attention to tire overall diameter so that the front and rear are the same as this will affect the anti-lock brake system. IE if your front 17 tires are say 25.66 diameter then the rear should be the same.

I have seen that on these cars, and something about it just does not look right. Looks great on the s197 and up cars.

Like stated above you are going to want to keep the tires the same size otherwise it might throw an ABS code.

I think with the dished FR500, the look may be able to be pullled off with an 18 in the rear. I agree with the stock style different sizes don't look good.

You'd have to have a dished wheel in the back to pull it off, IMO.

Your ABS light will most likely come on as well.

I almost bought a car with this setup using repo Cobra wheels. To be honest, you really couldn't tell the rears were 18's. Had I bought the car I would have sold the 18's with DR's and slapped a set of 285's on the stock wheels so I didn't have to worry about the ABS. One less headache if you ask me, didn't see worth it when you couldn't tell a difference.
