I'm looking to buy a set of 17x10.5 FR500's for the rear and 17x9 for the front.

Do I have to worry about any rubbing?

Also what is the widest tires i can put on 9 and 10.5in?

on a 9 you'd want to be 275 but you can go 295 safely (I've seen 315's on a 9 in fact some on this board have them but they won't wear correctly)....on a 10.5 usually 315's but I've heard of people putting 335's on but not sure how safe that would be.

As far as rubbing just get a 3/4 inch spacer and some longer ARP studs and you'll be fine. Cost you less than $50.

I run the exact setup and have NO rubbing issues at all. I have Nitto 555 255/40/17s up front and MT DR 315/35/17s out back. Never heard a peep from either end.:burnout:

for some reason when I had a solid axle with Borla's, my 315 Nittos would rub where it bends around the gas tank. I'd run 275/40's up front and 315/35's out back.

I run 10.5 inch wheels out back and for some reason the Eagle F1 GSD3s were getting carved up on the fender well lip so I had to have them rolled. Funny the Nitto 315s and the Yokohama 315s never rubbed?

different tire manufacturer's have different standards for sizes. GS-D3's are about the most wide you can get because of their stiff, vertical sidewall. Nittos are the most narrow I believe.

thats the best set-up i have seen, and i have both.
i have afs replicas in the back 10.5 with 315/35/17, and
a set of bullits that are 17x9 and 17x10.5, and 255/40/17 and 315/35/17.

no issue with rubbing, ever! but, for those that have issues, check the lower control arm bushings. hell, check all the bushing even upper, cause the stock ones allow your rear end ot MOVE UP TO 2". so with stock bushings and 315's and carving the hell out of corners, i would imagine that one could get under to much load and shift the axle up to 2"'s and cause a slight rub hear or there. i would guess it would mostly be from spinning around in circles causing most of the fender rubs.
just my 2 cents, but i have heard some companys tires are sometimes a little differant/. but i would go with what I have said here. trust me, go to the mach1 regristry and poll it there.

Sorry to jack the thread, but I've got a similar question...

I'm planning on getting the 18x10.5 FR500's rear and 18x9 front setup. I'm thinking about putting 315/35/18 on the rear and 265/35/18 on the front. Does anyone have any experience with this setup? Will the tires be pricey? Will spacers be suggested? Thanks!!!

Got 18x9 front, 18x10 rear no rubbing. Rubbing only seems to be a problem on the Cobras due to the IRS bolt. On the Cobra I have 17x10.5's on the back and they only rub/hit when the car is jacked up in the back with the tires fully off the ground. With the car on ground I can easily put my hand between the tire and the IRS bolt.
