After doing an extensive search on here, I have a few questions.

  • For those of you out there running a 15x8 wheel on a stock rear brakes "11-"14 GT, what back spacing are you using and what tire?
My guess is 6.5" BS but I've not seen it posted yet as fact.

  • And from what I've read, no sway bar relocation brackets needed with 15x8 wheels right?

  • On Weld RT-S 15x8, do you go with medium pad or low pad version?
Weld's Medium pad 15x8 only goes to 5.5" BS, but their Low pad 15x8 is available with 6.5" BS.

  • When converting the front brakes for 15" skinnies, is this the correct kit to use, with no other modifications?

I am wanting to go with a bias ply tires all around for track use only and don't want to go 15x10 just yet.

Here is what I'm leaning towards.

Wheels:
Front
Weld RT-S in black 15x4.5 medium pad 1.5" BS 5x4.5 bolt circle. (with 2010 caliper bracket and rotor kit)

Rear

Weld RT-S in black 15x8 ????? pad 6.5" BS 5x4.5 bolt circle.

Tires:
Front
Moroso DS-2 28x4.5-15 #17028

Rear

M/T ET Street bias ply 27x10.5-15 # 3758

Or,

Front

Hoosier Drag Front 27x4.5-15 #18106

Rear

Hoosier Quick Time Pro 27x11.5-15 # 17510QTP

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

with a 15x8, the 5.25 to 5.5 bs is what your going to want, 6.5 will stick out.

if your a stick the hoosier would be a good tire, for an auto we recommend the 275/60/15 radial pro mickey Thompson.

we have the welds and race stars btw

A couple quick points.
1. 6.5 Back space will actually be tucked in more but don't think the low pad RTs' fit our rear brakes.
2. The 5.25/5.5 will sit out to the same spot as 10's w 7.25/7.5 but with the narrower wheel can bludge out with wider tires. 275/60 should fit well but 10.5-11's may stick out too much.

correct, technically you could get away with the 6.5, but you will need to relocate the sway bar then, just as you would the 10" wheel
