130K mile '05 stang, what oil?

I've noticed that the engine is a little noisier as of late. I use, and always have, 5w-20 full syn oil (Mobil 1). Would there be any benefit/drawback in changing to 5w-30? Thank you.


(Sorry I tried searching for oil topics and couldn't come up with anything. I have a feeling I'm doing it wrong.)

i just switched to 5-30 and it im guessing due to my heads/cams it has def become less of a rattle box. the motor sounds healthier than before and during the oil changes the oil isnt as thin as it used to be.

Agreed, I would go to 5-30, I think that is what I will be putting in mine next oil change as well to quiet it down a little
