'11 Heads on a '13 Block

Just curious if anyone knows if there are any compatibility issues with bolting '11 heads onto a '13 Block? Just wanna make sure before I fully lock into buying a used '13 shortblock with the intention of re-using my '11 heads.

I am not sure. I believe the head bolt size is different. Now i'm not sure if that's just the threads in the block, or the whole diameter of the bolt. i would call a engine builder such as livernois, mmr, etc. I would like to think that you'd be good to go tho?

I'm just concerned because there is actually a different part number for the head gasket/bolt kit for '11-'12 and '13-'14. If it's just the head bolt size I guess all I'd have to do is be sure to order whichever one will thread into the '13 block, no big deal. Hopefully there's no other major differences.

Any 11 - 14 head will work, 11 - 12 block takes 12mm head bolts/studs, 13+ blocks use 11mm head bolt/studs

So the '13+ blocks actually use a smaller bolt/stud??? So when I order my head gasket kit I should get the one for '13+ then to match the block I'm using?

There's no issues. Just get the 13+ head bolts and your good.

That's what I did. I have 12 heads and a 13 block. Just got the arp studs for the 13 block

Same here just finished up my MMR 1500 pro mod re used my 12 heads with the 13 block, got the right studs and worked flawlessly
