07-09 JLT heat Shield

Love the carbon fiber JLT CAI. But that shield isn't working for me at all.

I inquired awhile back about the some shields that were stenciled w/GT500, but evidential they are no more...are there any other alternatives, out there??

I took mine off on my 08. It's not much of a heat shield and it looked better without it IMO.

Ford Racing always has nice heat shields. I wonder why the others haven't followed.

I happen to have one of those nifty heat shields and will sell it for what it cost me. Its made of aluminum and powdercoated silver. Sell for $65.00 plus shipping. Or the entire intake for $175.00

I just ran weatherstripping around mine.

Seals it off better and looks a little more finished.

I've since gone back and re-run the weatherstripping as 1-piece. Just dremeled the rear 90-deg. edge a little and rounded it off and trimmed the inside of the weatherstripping to allow it to fold back onto itself without bunching up.

Jay had mentioned he was going to revamp the shield again, but I think it will somewhere down the road before he gets around to doing it.

I never liked the idea of surrounding my air filter with aluminum that gets super hot.
