I was just looking around on cars.com and some some really good prices on the 05-06 saleens. i know they are sweet looking but what does it have over the terminator??? if it does have anything over... 2 completely different looking cars and i will be in the market soon to buy a terminator... so whats to say i should get a 05-06 saleen instead???? prices are similar... so lets hear it im not the super knowledgeable type on this subject.. i just know enough about the cobras but dont really know anything about the saleens... so lets hear it...

Terminator has a better motor for modding/more potential for money spent compared to most Saleens.

I have an 05 Mustang GT with a Saleen Series VI blower I installed on stock internals.

I installed the blower in 2006 when the car had 20,000Km (12,000Mi.)
I had the JDM stage II kit with a 3.4" pulley (10 psi) and tune installed and the car ran 11.427 at 119.92mph at E-Town.

In 2007 I reduced the pulley size to 3.2" (12 psi) and the car dynoed at 500RWHP 475 RWTQ. The car then ran 11.139, 11.140, 11.141.

The car now has 85,000km (53,000Mi.) and over 2,000 1/4 mile runs and still going strong.

There are many others out there that are running similar setups to mine with great results so I think you need to figure out which body style you prefer.

+1

I have an 06 Saleen with the JDM 550 kit and 3.2 pulley. Plus, I have an 04 Cobra that is tuned and modded..so I can compare easily side by side.

Personally, I think my Saleen feels stronger and handles better across the board but the Cobra hasn't undergone a pulley change like the Saleen. A lot of it is the Saleen S/C vs the Eaton..the Saleen S/C just generates a ton of torque down low, and keeps building. I also credit JDM with the tune on these cars..the tune really brings the 05-up cars alive.
The Eaton comes on higher in the RPM's and really builds thrust as the RPM's climb. But for around town driving, the Saleen S/C wins hands down for me.

Brakes are better on the Cobra, the 6 speed tranny on the Cobra is a bonus over the 5 speed on the Saleen..build quality (obviously) on the Saleen is way better than the Cobra.

I think the rear of the Cobra is super sexy, but I also love what Saleen did bodykit wise to the 05-up cars..the kit really fits the lines well.

Both cars attract crowds wherever I take them.

Again, the 03/04 Cobra has a better motor and responds better to mods. The 05/06 Saleen or any Mustang for that matter has new chassis, interior, better overall quality and fit-n-finish.

Are you still running the 39Lb. injectors or did you move up to the 60Lb. ones yet?

I was running the 39Lb. injectors up until last fall when I upgraded to the 60Lb. the 2.95" pulley, and the Saleen extreme intake. I haven't had much luck with the mail order tune on the new setup but I have an appointment for the 24th to have Jim dyno tune it.
