03 Cobra now running rich

My friends 03 Cobra has started to run very rich, could this be caused by the now colder temps or would it be related to a part? I have told him to check the FRPS and to see if the oil smells like gas. If the FRPS was bad wouldnt the car run poorly?


Car has a 2.76, 100m idler, offroad h, bama tune, and weld in mufflers. I believe that is all of the mods. He has stated the gas mileage has dropped to around 17 and I know before it was 20-21.

usually a bad FRPS, wont run at all.

I would clean the MAF, and do a ECM reset via disconnect battery....

How rich? Do you have AF gauge. Bama usually sends out rich tunes so the customer won't run lean. They can customize it but they need datalogs from your car to decrease the chance of damage.

He installed the 2.76 back in April/May and up until a day or so ago it ran fine but began running rich. A/F dont know he doesnt have a guage. He would datalog but he has no windows PC just a mac book. I have told him what you guys mentioned in this thread and the various tips I have read off this site as well. If he lived closer it be easier to help.
